Why do modern cars all look the same?

What happened to car designers? Is it all done on computers? Is that why they all look the same?
We are in the hands of a misguided mob of politicians who secretly want everybody (except themselves) to start cycling everywhere and cars will only be available for the priviledged few (them)

That may be why the beautiful designs of the past are no longer being created.
